Class Description
This interactive 8 week course will create a nonjudgmental space to explore the meaning of sexual liberation, both on a personal and societal level. You will be guided in challenging internalized shame and homophobia and instead celebrating the incredible diversity of sexuality. With consent and justice at the forefront, this will be a trauma informed space of growth. You will leave this course with new ideas for how you can be active (and effective!) as queer folks in the movement for sexual justice.

This course will guide you through:
- Unlearning internalized sexual repression and homophobia
- Getting to know your authentic sexual self
- Understanding sexual oppression as a system of oppression (including and beyond homophobia and transphobia)
- Considering how you can be a part of the movement for sexual justice
- Making a zine to share uncensored sexual liberation stories, ideas, and information

About the presenter
Nicole Mazzeo (any pronouns) is a queer sex educator with over a decade of experience. As the founder of Pleasure Pie and co-founder of Sex Week Boston, Nicole is passionate about using sex education as a tool for intersectional liberation. Their areas of expertise include consent, overcoming sexual shame, and sex education zines. They prioritize intersectional social justice and pleasure in their approach to sex education. |

Q: Who is this for?
A: This class is for queer adults (18+) of all backgrounds.
Q: What's in the sexual justice zines starter pack?
A: The sexual justice zines starter pack is an optional addition to the course, which you can select at checkout for an extra fee. It's a collection of some of our most popular sexual liberation zines, which we picked out specifically to deepen the learning and exploring you'll do in this course (though the course stands on its own!).
The starter pack includes:
3 large zines
2 mini zines
4 tiny zines
1 sticker
Q: I want to join, but I can't afford it right now. What can I do?
A: We offer the option of paying through PayPal, which provides a payment plan of 4 installments. Please contact Nicole at [email protected] to pay with PayPal.
There are also 2 partial scholarships available. If we approve your application, you will be added to a list of approved applicants, and we will use a random number generator to select 2 people from the list. You can apply for a scholarship here.
Q: Will I have time to ask questions?
A: We are capping attendance for this class to create a small group experience. Everyone will have time to ask questions and share their thoughts.
Q: I'm asexual. Is this course for me?
Ace folks and folks with limited sexual experience are absolutely welcome! It is really up to you and what you're comfortable with, and what you think would be useful to you.
Here are a couple of things to consider:
1. It's possible that some of the content might not feel relevant to you, though much of it is relevant to all sorts of folks. You might find that you want to approach the following topics creatively:
2. If you want to avoid the possibility of hearing people talk about their own sexual experiences, then this course might not be the best fit for you. The course is not meant to be a place for erotic sharing, so personal stories should only be shared for processing purposes. We will have some group agreements at the beginning to clarify these expectations. If you'd like to give it a shot but wind up wanting to tune out in certain moments, you can always turn off your camera and step away from the group for as long as you need.
