About Pleasure Pie

Picture
Pleasure Pie is a small activist organization based in Boston, MA. Our efforts center around combating sexual shame, promoting consent education, and supporting folks who are working toward intersectional liberation. We make alternative sexuality education materials (including zines, illustrations, and publications) and experiences (events, conversations, and workshops).

What is sex-positivity?

I think sexual pleasure is a legitimate thing to want and ethically pursue.
Cliff Pervocracy

This quote is at the core of our definition of sex-positivity. For a more in-depth explanation of what sex-positive means, we enthusiastically recommend this article: What I Mean When I Say I'm Sex-Positive.

Our Vision

We're passionate about helping to create a cultural shift that encourages people to:

  1. Be comfortable with their sexual desires (or lack of sexual desire).
  2. Respect other people's sexual desires, orientations, expressions, and autonomy.
  3. Be comfortable with talking about sex with their partner(s), and take steps to ensure that all the sex they initiate is consensual and non-coercive.
  4. Be sensitive to the ways in which systematic oppression affects all our lives and work toward a more just society.

In addition to her affinity for sex-positivity, Nicole also loves paper crafts, costume parties, and animals (including people). She highly values honesty and openness, and does her best to be as genuine as possible in everyday interactions.
