Zine Submissions

Oh hey, you make zines? That's cool! We love zines.

If you make zines that relate to sexual justice in some way, they might be a good fit for our collection! We like to carry zines that include useful, accurate information on topics like consent, sexual wellness, overcoming sexual shame, etc. Personal zines that discuss these kinds of topics are also welcome. Our favorite zines are a mix of text and art and contain hand drawn and/or handwritten elements. We are sex-positive/sex-neutral, fat-positive, kink-positive, gender-affirming, anti-racist, anti-classist, anti-ableist, and pro-sex worker rights. No zine is too small.

We don't accept zine submissions digitally.

Terms

1. It is your responsibility to make sure we have your current email address to reach you.

2. By submitting your zine(s) for consideration, you consent to us using images and quotes from your zine(s) on our website, social media, and Etsy store. For shorter zines, this may include a photograph of every page of your zine.

3. Let us know if you want us to tell you that we received your zine(s). Otherwise, we will only contact you if we decide to carry them. Feel free to email us if you don't hear from us.

4. If we do accept your zine(s), we promise to love them as our own.

Here's how we pay you:

We make payments via PayPal or Venmo. If you need to be paid a different way, let us know when you submit your zines for consideration.

We offer two options for distributing zines:

Option 1: You ship us completed zines.
If your zine(s) is accepted, you are welcome to send us up to 10 copies of each zine at a time. Zines should be folded/bound and ready to be read.
  • For mini zines (single 8.5x11" page folded into 1/8s), we pay $0.90 each.
  • For tiny zines (1/4 of a single 8.5x11" page folded into 1/8s), we pay $0.35 each.
  • For all other hard copies of zines, we pay you 50% of the retail price.
  • Payment is made upon receipt of your zines.

Option 2: We print/fold/bind your zines.
If your zine(s) is accepted, you are welcome to send us a PDF so that we can print/fold/bind it for you.
  • For mini zines (single 8.5x11" page folded into 1/8s), we pay $0.50 per copy.
  • For tiny zines (1/4 of a single 8.5x11" page folded into 1/8s), we pay $0.15 per copy.
  • For all other zines that we print for you, we will reach out to discuss pricing.
  • We cover the cost of printing.
  • If your zine is complicated to print/fold/bind, we may ask that you send us hard copies instead.
  • Payment is made each time we print your zines.

What kinds of zines are we looking for?

Picture
We stock zines that are educational, accessible, and based in a perspective of intersectional liberation.

Zine requirements:
  • Hand drawn / handwritten cover
  • Cover makes it clear what the zine is about
  • Pages are a mix of text and visuals (handwritten / hand drawn is a big plus!)
  • Inclusive of diverse genders, sexual orientations, desires and fetishes, body types, relationship structures (e.g. monogamy and non-monogamy)
  • Comes from a perspective of intersectional liberation (think: anti-racist, feminist, queer- and trans-affirming, body-positive, disability justice–minded, etc.)
  • Informative, accurate, and fact-checked (cite your sources!)
  • Written in a conversational, easy to understand way using plain language. This makes the information in your zine accessible to people with different levels of education, people with disabilities, and people whose first language is not English. Here's a plain language text editor

Zine tips:
  • We prefer a gender neutral aesthetic, unless the zine is specifically geared toward people with a certain gender presentation
  • We love zines that fill a void in sex education. What is something that would be really helpful to people, and doesn't exist yet (or doesn't exist in an easy-to-access, visually appealing way)?
