Request a Shout-out from Pleasure Pie
*You don't have to read all of this before submitting a request, but it's here in case you're interested. Tldr: We want to shout-out your work if it aligns with our values of intersectional liberation, especially if it's related to sex.*
I've been thinking about how to best use Pleasure Pie's online platform, on Instagram and elsewhere. My main intention is to use it for public education about consent, sexual liberation, sexual justice, and social justice. I also intend to use it as a space to get the word out about our events, zines, art, and other projects.

Okay, but let's get to the part about shout-outs
I also want our platform to lift up the work that other sex educators, activists, and thinkers are creating. And I'm realizing that in order to do that, I need to know about your stuff.
Shout-out FAQs
What kinds of things will you give shout-outs?
I want to give shout-outs to various types of content that offer education around topics that Pleasure Pie is most focused on. Topics like consent, sexual pleasure, sexual health, sex work, communication and boundaries for sex and relationship, LGBTQIA+ experiences, non-monogamy, kink and BDSM, gender liberation, intersectional social justice, and more.
In terms of content types, I am especially interested in zines. Podcasts, articles, webinars, Instagram accounts/posts, and visual arts are also great. And probably other things. I hate to say it, but reading doesn't come all that easily to me and I don't see myself having the capacity to read entire books for the sake of giving them a shout-out, so books are currently off the table.
Who can request a shout-out?
Anyone who shares Pleasure Pie's values around sexual liberation, creating a culture of consent, gender equality, and social justice is welcome to request a shout-out! I am especially interested in promoting the work of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), disabled folks, LGBTQIA+ folks, immigrants, people and organizations who don't have large scale commercial success, and anyone else whose work has not historically been centered by the sex education field.
What does a shout-out look like?
It might mean me linking to your Instagram account in the bottom of an Instagram post and explaining your work's relevance to the post (like this). It might mean me mentioning your work in our Instagram story, with an image and tagging your account. It might also mean me including your art or other work in the "Other Stuff" section of Boston's Sex-Positive Newsletter.
Does my request ensure that I will get a shout-out?
No. Please don't be offended if I don't shout out your work, or if I take a long time to do so. Our social media is currently a one-person operation.
Does a shout-out cost anything?
No, it's free.
