Reproductive Justice Salon Results3/11/2023 What did you do on the evening of February 11, 2023? We ask mainly because we are itching to tell you what we did that night, which was host the Reproductive Justice Salon! Our goal in hosting this event was three-fold: 1) raise money to donate to abortion funds across the country 2) speak out about pressing issues regarding abortion and reproductive justice and 3) create a space of community for activists and supporters of reproductive rights for people of all genders, everywhere. It was inspiring and heartening to see local community members—from sex educators to zine makers to activists and a poet—share their unique insights on a wide array of reproductive justice topics. The presentations covered topics including protecting your privacy when seeking an abortion, organizing for reproductive rights, reproductive justice and pleasure, fetal anomalies, hysterectomies, and redefining “comprehensive” sexual education with a focus on empowerment and social justice for K-12 sex education. Thank you so much to all the speakers, attendants and local sponsors; none of this would have been possible without you! Taking into account ticket sales, raffles, and other donations, we were able to raise $1,381 dollars, all of which will be going directly to the five abortion funds listed below. The raffle alone raised over $400 with items donated by All She Wrote bookstore, Aeronaut Brewing Company, Bicycle Belle, Ball Square Fine Wines, Taco Party, Modern Muse Boudoir, Good Vibrations, Hub Comics, Kink Academy, Rococo Florals, & Pleasure Pie! We are still raising funds on GoFundMe in an attempt to double the event’s impact. If you weren’t able to make it to the event, but want to support abortion access, please consider making a donation of any amount! Also, if you are able, please consider donating time or labor to the following abortion funds:
